The history of the women and girls forced into sexual servitude by the Japanese military during World War II has been the subject of both scholarly and public attention. In addition to historical and legal analyses, a substantial body of literature has emerged that explores this history through fiction, poetry, and memoirs. These literary works are vital texts for understanding both the individual and collective dimensions of trauma, memory, and justice. By drawing on narrative and poetic forms, authors and survivors alike have challenged official silences and contributed to a broader reckoning with the legacies of wartime violence.
